The role would involve working 3 days a week. As the Health and Safety manager you will play a vital role in promoting a Health and Safety Culture throughout our entire workforce. This role requires a proactive and assertive individual who is flexible in their approach to work. With three trading divisions and a network of twelve depots, there will be driving involved in the job. If you are looking for a role where you can make a difference, then this is the job for you. Main duties and responsibilities

  • To ensure all staff, including any Sub-Contractors engaged by the company comply with Health & Safety Legislation and our company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake regular depot site visits and audits.
  • Developing and executing health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  • Preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
  • Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents when and if they arise.
  • Reporting health and safety awareness, issues and statistics to the directors.
  • Provide guidance and training to managers and supervisors on H&S matters.

Technical Experience/Skills

  • Proven track record of working as a Health and safety Manager
  • Strong system skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analysis of information to support decision making
  • Driven to achieve results
  • Industry training qualifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience within the plant and machinery industry
