Robust | Smooth-Running | Reliable Rotor Gear Drive

  • The thick-walled gear trough made of fine-grained steel is extremely resistant to twisting. The tapered front edge allows soil to flow past unrestricted without bulldozing.
  • Large gears are mounted directly above the bearings on 1.96″ / 50 mm diameter rotor shafts.
  • Bearing housing welded to the central brace and bottom of trough results in exact spacing between each rotor.
  • Robust taper roller bearings in forged, single-piece bearing housings. Bearings and gears run submerged semi liquid grease with labyrinth seals fitted around the rotor shafts.
  • The lower bearings are located as close as possible to the tine carrier. The upper and lower bearings are spaced as far apart as possible to minimise stress.
  • Tine carriers are integrated into the gear trough. This prevents stones from becoming trapped between the rotor and trough.
  • The tines are 0.71″ / 18 mm thick and can be reversed to be used on both sides.
  • 0.70″ / 15 mm thick tines on LION 303.12 models.
  • Quick-fix tine replacement system optional.

LION CLASSIC gearbox up to 140 hpv

  • PTO input shaft mounted far back, low stress on the PTO shaft.
  • Fixed rotor speed.
  • Rear PTO shaft is not possible.

Side Boards

Side boards can be folded upwards and feature depth adjustment using diagonal slotted holes.

Levelling Boards

The rear levelling board is standard and is set automatically with the depth of the rear roller – no readjustment is necessary. Consistent distance from tines over the full working depth thanks to the vertical supports. Initial depth is set using pin-in-hole adjustment – easily accessible at each end of the harrow.

Front levelling board is also available (same design as rear board).

Lion Power Harrows

LION power harrows guarantee extremely smooth running and high stability. These machines operate reliably even in the hardest endurance conditions and heaviest soil.

  • Thick-walled gear trough made of fine-grained steel – extremely resistant to twisting.
  • Tapered leading edge – earth can flow past unrestricted without forming a ridge.
  • Large gear wheels directly above bearings. Extended inside splines for secure seat on rotor shaft.
  • Bearing housing welded with central web and floor of trough. Exact axle spacing between each rotor.
  • Robust tapered roller bearings in forged, single-piece bearing housings.
  • The lower bearings are located close to the tine carrier.
  • Upper and lower bearings spaced as far apart as possible to minimise stress.
  • Tine carriers are integrated into the gear trough. Stones cannot become trapped.

Gear Trough And Tine Mountings

  • The high-strength deep gear trough provides the gearbox with excellent stability. Large toothed wheels, 1.97 or 2.36″ / 50 or 60 mm thick rotor shafts with heavy-duty tapered roller bearings and wide bearing spacing ensure a long service life.
  • The deep gear trough is formed from a single piece. The welded central gusset provides maximum stability. The bearing housings are welded into the box section with the central gusset before being milled on the CNC machining centre. This sequence ensures exact axle spacing between each rotor; the guarantee for extremely smooth operation and durability.

Tine Carriers

  • The forged, full-length tine carriers are integrated into casing. This offers best protection against wrapping because the tines work the soil away from the gear trough. Stones cannot become trapped between the rotors.
