Kelso & Lothian Harvesters
Kelso & Lothian Harvesters is a private limited company, owned and managed by Managing Director Bob Reid. Bob established Kelso Harvesters in 1988 and following the acquisition of Lothian Harvesters changed the name of the company to Kelso & Lothian Harvesters. There are 21 employees over two depots at Kelso and Haddington.


 

 

 

 

Bob Reid, Managing & Sales Director
Bob started his career in 1965 as an apprentice engineer with George Henderson and gained City and Guilds at Napier Technical College before moving to Rutherfords of Cornhill as a qualified agricultural engineer. He then joined the sales team at McBains of Chirnside and later was employed by Lloyds Tractors as salesman in 1979. Bob founded Kelso Harvesters in 1988.

 

Sandra McLean, Company Secretary & Personnel Manager
Sandra graduated from University of Strathclyde in 1981 with degrees in modern languages. With her roles in teaching and Continuous Professional Development she brings essential skills to our human resource management and training programmes. Sandra is married to Bob Reid and heads up staff contracts, discipline policy and training for the Company.

 

Ross Fleming, Kelso Sales
Ross Fleming, whose family farms Whitsome Laws near Duns, brings practical experience of farming challenges combined with hands on knowledge of modern day machinery. With BSc Hons from University of Abertay Dundee combined with a natural aptitude for computer applications, Ross represents the emerging generation of farming machinery that so heavily depends on computerisation.

  Craig Robertson, Service & Parts Manager
Craig started as an apprentice engineer Thomas Sherriff in 1989 gaining NVQ in Agricultural Engineering at Kirkly Hall College and was Engineering Student of the Year in 1990. He has in depth combined engineer experience and was second in the John Deere Engineer of the Year awards. In 1999 he joined Kelso & Lothian Harvesters specialising in Fastracs, then sprayer servicing with Thomas Sherriff before again joining Kelso Harvesters again as service manager in 2004.
 

Alan Nixon, Kelso Sales
Alan is a highly experienced salesmen and well known throughout the farming community
in the Scottish Borders. A regular competitor in local ploughing matches, his hands-on
experience and understanding of farming machinery means he is in an excellent position
to advise on the right choice of machinery for your farm.

Jane Aitchison   Jane Aitchison, Administration & Finance Manager
Jane graduated from The University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a BSc Hons degree in Agriculture, since leaving university she has gained experience by working as a Sales management trainee for BOCM Pauls Ltd, a group secretary for the NFU and an administrator for Borders Premium Potatoes. She Joined Kelso Harvesters in 1996 and is in charge of Finance and Administration for the company.
    Ian Hamilton, Haddington Sales
Ian Hamilton was a qualified agricultural engineer for 12 years with Gillies and Henderson, Haddington.  From 1986 to 1991 he joined the sales force in the same company.  Ian joined Kelso Harvesters in 1996 to start up Lothian Harvesters Ltd Depot in Haddington.  In 2002 the two Companies incorporated to form KLH – Kelso and Lothian Harvesters Ltd.
